Infosys has taken over Rajarhat plot
Software giant Infosys has paid Rs 50 crore to take possession of 50 acres allotted to it in 2010, state urban development minister Firhad Hakim said on Saturday. With this, the TMC government hopes to put to rest speculations that the firm was pulling out of the state. The IT giant had originally been offered the land at Rajarhat in 2010 by the then Left Front government as a Special Economic Zone.
Infosys Planning Campus in West Bengal, Says Minister
West Bengal Urban Development Minister Firhad Hakim on Saturday said software major Infosys is planning to set up campus in the state and has completed the payment for the land it received from the government. Meanwhile, at the inauguration of the trade fair, State Finance Minister Amit Mitra criticised the demonetisation drive saying the common man is suffering.
Infy pays Rs 50 crore more for Rajarhat land
IT major Infosys has paid another Rs 50 crore for the Rajarhat land, sending out signals that the company is keen to have its footprint in Bengal. The development marks a turnaround from the situation a year ago when Infosys had asked the Mamata Banerjee government for SEZ status or return Rs 75 crore it had paid to the government for Rajarhat land.
