Independence Day: Resurgence is an upcoming 2016 American science fiction disaster film directed by Roland Emmerich. It is the sequel to the 1996 film Independence Day. it was announced that the first sequel had been rescheduled for a June 24, 2016 release.
After ‘Independence Day’ redefined the event movie genre, the next epic chapter delivers global spectacle on an unimaginable scale. Using recovered alien technology, the nations of Earth have collaborated on an immense defence program to protect the planet.
Set 20 years after the original, this sequel sees the nations of Earth use the alien technology to develop an advanced defence system for the planet. But nothing can prepare them for an unprecedented force of alien attackers out for revenge. It’s up to a few brave men and women to save the world from extraterrestrials once more.
