PewDiePie – YouTube

PewDiePie Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg Swedish born on 24 October 1989, better known by his online alias PewDiePie, is a Swedish web-based comedian and video producer, best known for his Let’s Play commentaries and vlogs on YouTube. Born in Gothenburg, Sweden, PewDiePie originally pursued a degree in industrial economics and technology management at Chalmers University of Technology.

What PewDiePie’s Temper Tantrum

There’s been a lot written recently about how YouTube star PewDiePie whose real name is Felix Kjellberg is threatening to delete his hugely successful channel, and how this is just a temper tantrum by a man-baby who makes millions of dollars playing video games. At first glance, the video in which he threatens to delete his channel seems like the whining of a rich, entitled celebrity who has noticed that his videos aren’t getting as many views as they used to, and blames the platform for not supporting him as much as he thinks they should.

  PewDiePie’s why he’s so successful

There are a few things commonly accepted about Felix Kjellberg, aka PewDiePie. He screams a lot. He publishes videos himself playing video games. He makes a lot of money doing so. The latest figure is $7.4 million, which comes by way of Swedish newspaper Expressen. That shouldn’t be too surprising Kjellberg is the king of YouTube, after all. When we nominated him for The Verge 50 this past December, he had 32.6 million subscribers and 6.9 billion views; less than a year later, he’s now up to 37.7 million subscribers and over 9 billion views.

Early life

Felix PewDiePie was born and raised in Gothenburg, Sweden. He was born to Lotta Kristine Johanna and Ulf Christian Kjellberg, and grew up with his sister, Fanny, as well. His mother Johanna, a former KappAhl CIO, was named the 2010 CIO of the Year in Sweden. His father, Ulf, is also a Chief Executive of a company. On this decision, PewDiePie has stated, Thinking about it now, it was utterly absurd. To get into Chalmers for industrial economics you need straight A’s, but somehow I was happier selling hot dogs and making my own gaming videos.

PewDiePie Will Delete His YouTube

Kjellberg previously published a video lamenting problems with the way YouTube surfaces content. Recent changes to the platform have led to the “Recommended” feed being given more prominence than a user’s subscription feed, which has been relegated to a sidebar option. He also noted the shift away from personalities in favour of trending videos, which often feature clickbait titles or thumbnails and diminish the value of personalit led content. These supposedly viral videos have been given more exposure on the front page of YouTube and in areas where videos are suggested.
