Introducing the new Live tab on Fire TV: Amazon Fire TV

In perhaps the biggest update ever, Amazon Fire TV devices in the country would get a software update that would add the Live TV feature. The company is rolling out the update for all Fire TV devices in India, including the Fire TV Stick 4K, Fire TV Stick, and the newly-launched Fire TV Lite. This means there would be a Live tab option on the home screen now along with apps, movies, and shows.

According to the tech giant, SonyLIV, Voot, Discovery+, and NextG TV streaming platforms are the initial providers to integrate with the Live TV experience with Zee5 expected to be added soon. The apps would collectively give customers access to popular channels including Sony SAB HD, Colors HD, SET HD, Nick HD+, Dangal, DD National, News18 India, MTV Beats HD, SONY BBC Earth HD, Mastii TV Music, Discovery for now, and also to Zee TV, Zee Cinema and Zee News in the near future. Customers who have downloaded and subscribed to any of the integrated apps on their Fire TV devices would see the ‘On Now’ row on their home screen and a red bar at the bottom of each thumbnail would indicate the real-time progress of the show. Customers can also access their favorite channels by simply saying — “Alexa, Watch Colors HD”.

“Since launching in India, Fire TV has been offering a vast selection of on-demand movies, TV shows, popular apps and features to customers. With Live TV integration, we are making this experience even better by providing instant access to popular, real-time content for our customers without having to switch inputs. It enriches the content experience by streaming live TV on the much-loved Fire TV interface, just by asking Alexa. Amazon will continuously expand this selection and offer the best of live TV experiences to our customers,” Parag Gupta, Head of Amazon Devices, India, said in a statement.

For all existing Fire TV and Fire TV Edition customers, the ‘Live’ tab would begin rolling out today and would be available over the next few weeks. The ‘On Now’ row is available to exist customers on the basis of their app downloads and subscription status. For new customers, the ‘Live’ tab would be available within a few weeks after the device is activated and the ‘On Now’ row would be accessible once they download and subscribe to the integrated apps.

The new Live TV feature would also give users quick and easy access to the Fire TV channel guide, accessible in the ‘Options’ row of the ‘Live’ tab. For newly-launched Fire TV Lite customers, the channel guide can be accessed through the guide button on their Alexa Voice Remote Lite. This integrated channel guide allows customers to choose their favorite channels.

How to watch Live TV on Amazon Fire TV Stick

Amazon has brought a new live TV feature for its Fire TV devices in India. The new feature will make it easier for customers to find and access live content from subscribed apps. It will also allow them to access the integrated channel guide for all of the subscribed apps.

Amazon has revealed that SonyLIV, Voot, Discovery+, and NextG TV are the first content providers to integrate their live TV experience onto Fire TV devices. Zee5 will also soon integrate all of its live TV channels on the platform. If you have a subscription to all of these apps, you will be able to access various live channels including Sony SAB HD, Colors HD, SET HD, Nick HD+, Dangal, DD National, News18 India, MTV Beats HD, SONY BBC Earth HD, Mastii TV Music, Discovery and very soon Zee TV, Zee Cinema and Zee News.

Here we will be taking a look at how you can integrate and watch live TV on your Fire TV stick

* Subscribe to one of the above listed OTT platforms, which have a live TV service integrated into it.

* Download the OTT app onto the Fire TV Stick and log in via your credentials.

* All of the live TV channels will show up inside of the ‘Live’ tab and all of the live programs running live on TV will show up inside of the ‘On Now’ row.

* After integration of the services, users can also use voice commands like “Alexa, Watch Colors HD” to put up a live TV channel.

* All of the live channels will also show up inside of the guide UI, with a separate tab given to them.

The new update, bringing the live TV feature has started rolling out for all existing Fire TV and Fire TV Edition customers and the rollout will be complete over the next few weeks. The ‘On Now’ row is already available to exist customers.

Recently Realme launched three mainstream products in their gadgets line up, Realme Watch 3 smartwatch, Buds Air 3 Neo true wireless earphones, and Buds Wireless 2S neckband-style wireless earphones.

The Realme Watch 3 has a major feature addition in the form of Bluetooth calling functionality, while the Realme Buds Air 3 Neo has support for Dolby Atmos audio. The Realme Buds Wireless 2S will be priced affordably and will promise reliable and stable connectivity thanks to Bluetooth 5.3

The new Realme Buds Air 3 Neo came with 10mm dynamic bass drivers and supports Dolby Atmos, AI ENC for noise cancellation for calls, and Bluetooth 5.2 technology. The earbuds support up to 7 hours of music playback on a single charge. Also, the earbuds charging case bring the battery life up to 30 hours, with USB Type-C charging. The Realme Buds Air 3 Neo is priced at Rs. 1,999 in India, while the Buds Wireless 2S is available for Rs. 1,499. For the time being, these products will be available at discounted prices of Rs. 1,699 and Rs. 1,299 respectively. These products go on sale July last week, on Flipkart, the Realme online store, and select retail stores.
