The world-leading smartphone brand OPPO held the global launch for its all-new ColorOS 11 today via an online press conference, making history as one of the first OEMs to bring the latest Android 11 update to global users. With its “Make Life Flow” concept, ColorOS 11 maintains the beloved stock Android features while also providing the rich UI customtion sought by OPPO users. Its rapid launch, which follows on the heels of Google’s Android 11 announcement, is the result of a close collaboration between the two companies to realize the launch in record time.
New level of UI customization to unleash your personality
ColorOS 11 offers an unprecedented level of UI customization to help users unleash their imagination and personalize their experience. Users can essentially create their own Always-On Display, theme, and wallpaper, as well as fonts, icons, and ringtones. This latest upgrade also enhances stock Android’s Dark Mode with three color schemes and levels of contrast. Meanwhile, OPPO Relax 2.0 lets users create their own white noise mix while also offering an extensive and immersive collection of sounds from cities around the world.
“ColorOS 11’s focus on UI customization is rooted in the customer’s desire for a more personalized and unique phone experience,” says Lynn Ni, OPPO ColorOS Design Project Lead. “The ColorOS team has heeded the user feedback for greater UI customization, offering a more personalized UI that encompasses a wide range of features. In doing so, we are providing users with ample space to demonstrate their creativity and exercise control over their phones.”
Greater efficiency than ever before
ColorOS 11 is equipped with robust features that improve work and life efficiency. Among them is the Three-Finger Translate powered by Google Lens, the first feature co-created by OPPO and Google. It captures and translates text through a simple screenshot taken with a three-finger gesture.
Flexdrop, another new feature, provides a simple and intuitive solution for multi-tasking. Users can watch video and text at the same time, which is particularly useful for gamers and video-lovers. Users can even switch between and control different smart home devices through a new Device Control menu, without having to download new apps.
To maximize available battery, the new Super Power Saving Mode lets users select six apps to run in low-battery situations. Meanwhile, Battery Guard prevents damage from prolonged charging at unstable power voltages by learning user habits. It intelligently pauses charging once it reaches 80% at night, before resuming to achieve a full charge by the time users wake up.
Unparalleled smoothness to “Make Life Flow”
While high frame rates are a positive industry advancement, phones often experience lags and stutters as a result. To combat this, ColorOS 11 has introduced UI First 2.0, which combines OPPO’s proprietary lag-reducing engine with Quantum Animation. This boosts RAM utilization by 45%, improving the response rate by 32% and the frame rate by 17%.
Meanwhile, AI App Preloading learns user behavior to preload the most-used apps, reducing loading time. SuperTouch also intelligently identifies user scenarios and optimizes the touch response speed accordingly, improving system fluency.
A heightened focus on user security and privacy
ColorOS 11 incorporates stock Android 11’s newly added privacy options while creating a series of additional privacy protection and data security features. Private System creates a separate system where the second version of apps and data runs independent of the original and is accessible only via a separate fingerprint scan or password
A new shortcut to App Lock enables users to lock apps through a password, fingerprint, or facial verification. The permissions system has also been enhanced, with temporary permissions that reset the camera, microphone, and location access when the app is closed. Meanwhile, auto-reset permissions return app permission settings to default if they haven’t been used for a long time. To prevent malicious apps from accessing other apps’ data, scoped storage restricts apps’ access to phone data, requesting user permission in order to do so.
The fastest and widest rollout in ColorOS history
The current beta launch of ColorOS 11 invites tech-savvy users to explore the new features and offer feedback, with an official version to follow in the coming weeks. ColorOS 11 will be released in a batch-by-batch approach, starting with the Find X2 Series and Reno3 Series. The complete rollout will cover 28-plus phone models, including the Find, Reno, F, K, and A series.

ColorOS 11 has been unveiled as one of the early custom skins based on Google’s Android 11 operating system. The new iteration of Oppo’s ColorOS maintains a balance between stock Android features and proprietary interface elements to provide users with a feel of both worlds, Oppo says. A major change that ColorOS 11 brings on top of Android 11 is the enhanced Always-On Display feature that lets users create their own designs for the ambient display. The latest ColorOS update also includes an upgraded Dark Mode as well as a series of performance enhancements.
ColorOS 11 features
ColorOS 11 allows users to create their own fonts, icons, and ringtones. It also provides a personalized experience through themes and the ability to change the Always-On Display design with various styles and patterns. Further, there is Oppo Relax 2.0 that gives a way to create a white noise mix by using different sounds of local markets, oceans crashing, and birds chirping.
Oppo has also worked with Google to develop a three-finger translate feature, which is powered by Google Lens. This lets you translate the content in your preferred language simply by taking a screenshot using a three0finger gesture.
Dark Mode on ColorOS 11 has also been upgraded with three distinct color schemes and multiple levels of contrast. The new skin also includes a FlexDrop feature that lets you resize the app into a small floating window or smaller mini-window by a swiping gesture.
ColorOS 11 additionally comes preloaded with a new Super Power Mode that is touted to provide a standby time of 12 hours or talk time of one hour with just five percent battery. There is also a Battery Guard feature that is claimed to help protect the battery from prolonged charging at unstable power voltages. The feature pauses charging once the battery reaches 80 percent at night, before resuming to achieve a full charge by the time users wake up. Further, specifically for Indian users, the latest ColorOS version brings a Low Battery Message feature that allows you to send messages to your selected contacts when the phone battery drops to 15 percent.
For performance improvements, ColorOS 11 comes with UI First 2.0 that combines Oppo’s proprietary lag-reducing engine with Quantum Animation. This helps boost RAM utilization by 45 percent, improving the response rate by 32 percent and the frame rate by 17 percent, according to Oppo. The custom skin also includes an AI App Preloading feature that is touted to use artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms to learn user behavior and preload the most-used apps. This helps reduce the loading time of your favorite apps. However, it is unclear whether the feature is limited to certain apps, or if it can work with any of the installed apps.
ColorOS 11 also has a SuperTouch feature that optimizes the touch response speed by identifying user scenarios and improves the overall system fluency. There is also a new shortcut to App Lock to lock apps through a password, fingerprint, or facial verification.
Budget Smartphone selection for 2021 January
Best economic mobile phones for January 2021
Nowadays mobile phones are used for several purposes. Some of them are important and some of them for time pass.
What are the main use of mobile phones?
- Make calls
- Send Messages
- Surf Websites
- Capture your best moments
- Enter into online and offline applications.
To fulfill this, and average person only need a phone with price around 10,000 RS. Selecting a phone with maximum features is a himalayan task for few. Here are my list of budget phones for the month of January 2021.
5. Realme C15 3GB 32 GB
Realme C15 only have 3GB RAM and 32GB internal memory. You might be wondering why this phone entered into my top 5 budget phone list for the new decade.
Following are key elements making the Realme C15 in my favorite list.
- 6.52 inch HD Display
- 13MP AI Quad Camera
- 6000 mAh battery
Realme C15 can be preferred for those who are looking for a good photography experience and huge battery backup.
4. Redmi 9 Prime 4GB 64GB
Redmi 9 Prime outperformed Realme C15 with its 4GB RAM and 64GB internal memory.
Other few features are
- A descent 5020 mAh battery
- 6.53 full HD Display
- AI Quad Camera
3. Oppo A5 2020 3GB 64GB
Oppo A5 beaten Redmi 9 Prime with its Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 Octa core processor. I personally like Qualcomm processors over MediaTek.
Key other features include
- 64 GB internal memory
- Snapdragon 665 Octa Core Processor
- 5000 mAh battery
2. Samsung Galaxy M11 3GB 32 GB
Even though the Galaxy M11 comes with 3GB RAM 32GB internal memory, the position of the selfi Camera given rank 2 in my list. Most of the under 10K range Smartphones comes with water drop Camera. Hence the punch hole Camera in the Galaxy M11 making it favorable for many. Moreover Samsung has more brand value than the other phones in the list. At least from my point for view. There is no need for an argument at this time.
Here are some of the other key features
- Expandable memory support upto 512GB
- Qualcomm octa core processor
- 5000 mAh battery
1. Redmi 9 4GB 128 GB
While seeing the heading itself you might have noticed the heavy internal memory. Getting a Smartphone with 128GB under 10K is the only reason making Redmi 9 in the top of my list. 4GB RAM and 128GB internal memory gives enough room for us store and capture whatever we wants.
Other Key features are
- 5000 mAh battery
- 6.53 HD display

Samsung Galaxy S21 (2021) Redefine Concept Introduction
Samsung Galaxy S21, the next flagship series from the South Korean tech major, is expected to launch in January next year, and the phones could go on sale by the end of the month. In the latest leak, tipster Jon Prosser has revealed the launch, sale, and pre-order dates of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S21 phones on Twitter. The Samsung Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra launch will take place on January 14, 2021 and pre-orders will start on the same day. The tipster also claims that the devices will go on sale on January 29.
Samsung’s flagship lineup sees the S series launch in the first half of the year, while the Note series comes in the second half. While some reports are claiming the brand will launch the phones with Samsung Galaxy S30 name label, others are saying Galaxy S21 will be the official name.
Prosser in his tweet also revealed the colour variants of the Samsung Galaxy S21 series. These are black, white, grey, silver, violet, and pink. While the features of the devices are yet to be revealed, several leaks have already suggested what could be the possible specifications of the new phones. Here’s everything we know so far.
Samsung Galaxy S21 price (expected)
The Samsung Galaxy S21 price is expected to start from $999, which is around Rs 74,640 in India. The Galaxy S21 Plus could cost $1,199 (around Rs 89,580), whereas the Galaxy S21 Ultra $1,399 (approximately Rs 104,529).
Samsung Galaxy S21 series: Specifications
As per the leaks, the Galaxy S21 or Galaxy S30 phones will sport a punch-hole display design. The cutout will be placed on the upper right side of the display. The handsets will also have slim bezels. The design of the phones will be almost similar to the Samsung Galaxy S20 series.
The leaked renders showed that the volume rockers and power button will be located on the right edge. The standard version is expected to come with a compact 6.2-inch flat display. The screen of the Galaxy S21 Ultra could measure between 6.7 and 6.9 inches. It is expected to come with a slightly curved display and could include support for the S Pen, which would be a first in the S series. However, the device might lack any slot for the brand’s signature stylus.
The phones will likely be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 processor in some markets. Samsung is expected to announce its own Exynos 1080 processor on November 12. This chip is based on the 5nm process. But this is not going to power the S21 series, according to a report on Sam Mobile. The devices will run the Exynos 2100 chipset, depending on the region.
The most premium version in the series is rumoured to pack a 108-megapixel primary camera and a 40-megapixel snapper for selfies. The Galaxy S21 series could also see the introduction of a new under-display selfie camera. Again, Samsung could limit this new technology to the most premium flagship in the series, which would be the S21 Ultra.
On the software side, the Galaxy S21 will ship with One UI 3.0, which will be based on Android 11. The Samsung Galaxy S21 series was recently spotted on 3C certification. The site hinted that the standard version will offer a 4,000mAh battery, whereas the Samsung Galaxy S21+ is tipped to feature a 4,660mAh battery. The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra will reportedly have a 5,000mAh battery. All three phones are expected to ship with a 25W fast charger.
