Xiaomi, which is always at the forefront, is looking for something new for its customers, The wait for it to arrive is over. The new Xiaomi version of Redmi 9 is just a few days away from hitting the markets. Redmi 9 is the most brutal version of mobile.

Amazon India has listed the upcoming Redmi 9 on its portal ahead of the August 27 launch. Xiaomi, last week, announced that it is bringing the Redmi 9 in India on August 27 at 12:00PM (noon). The information was shared by Redmi India Twitter page. Also, Xiaomi’s India website updated the event page for the Redmi 9 with a countdown timer to the launch event time. But as of now, there is not much information available for the upcoming Redmi 9 for India. But if reports are to be believed, then this model could be a slightly tweaked version of the Redmi 9C that was originally launched in Malaysia back in June. To recall, Xiaomi originally launched a Redmi 9 phone in Spain back in June and that has already been launched in India as the Redmi 9 Prime.

We haven’t seen the ‘Prime’ branding on a Redmi smartphone in a really long time, but now Xiaomi has brought it back with the Redmi 9 Prime. Xiaomi explains that this model has been launched because its Redmi Note 9 series has become more expensive due to the GST hike and Rupee-Dollar fluctuations.

Redmi 9: Specifications and features

If you ask me why the Redmi 9 is different from other mobiles, the Redmi is the cheapest but the features are not lacking at all. Over the years, Xiaomi’s Redmi series has managed to dominate the low-budget smartphone market. Xiaomi has revealed many details about the Redmi 9 already. The Redmi 9 will come with more RAM and storage.The specific details are yet to be confirmed. The page further reveals that the upcoming Redmi phone will come with a HyperEngine Game Technology and AI-backed dual rear camera setup.

The budget smartphone is also claimed to offer extended battery life, which means we can expect a bigger battery when compared to Redmi 8. The rear panel design of the Redmi 9 has been revealed. The phone feature a square-shaped camera design that includes the camera sensors. The fingerprint scanner is there on the rear as well & the back is textured.

The Redmi 9 is expected to come with a 6.53-inch HD+ display with screen resolution of 720×1,600 pixels, powered by MediaTek Helio G35 SoC coupled with up to 3GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. On the camera front, the Redmi 9 could include a 13MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary sensor at the back, For selfies, there could pack a 5MP sensor on the front. The phone is tipped to come with a 5000mAh battery with 10W charging support.

Redmi 9 will challenge Realme’s Realme 6 Smartphone

As far as the price is concerned, the Redmi 9 Prime launched in India at a starting price of Rs 9,999 so we are expecting the Redmi 9 to launch at a starting price of around Rs 8,499-8,999. At this starting price, it is going to compete with the Realme C12 which recently launched in the Indian market.

Redmi 9(India) and Redmi 9 C(Malaysia):Difference

The biggest difference between the 9 (India) & the 9C (Malaysia) is that the Redmi 9 (India) has dual cameras on the back whereas the Redmi 9C has triple cameras. As we can see in the renders, there are four circles in the camera module, but only two are actual cameras & one is the LED flash. The fourth one is there to make the camera setup design symmetric.
