samsung s20 FE

Samsung just launched a host of new products in August, but another Galaxy Unpacked event has now been scheduled. On September 23, Samsung will host another event where we expect the company to officially reveal its Galaxy S20 FE. Over the last few months have seen a number of leaks and rumors point towards the possibility of Samsung launching a lite variant of the Galaxy S20. Expected to be called the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition (FE).

Launch Details

The event will be live-streamed on the 23rd at 10 a.m. ET/7 a.m. PT, but Samsung isn’t offering any further details at this time.
And ahead of its launch, information about the device appears to have leaked online, with an image of the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE also being seen on the company’s website.

Available Colors

The image reveals interesting details and suggests that the phone will have a flat-screen. The listing first spotted by Evan Blass which confirms the device will be available in Cloud Navy and Cloud Lavendar color options. Meanwhile, the leaks suggest it will come in White, Red, Green, Blue, Orange, Lavender, and Green. However, these colours may be limited to specific markets.

Specifications

Luckily, we already know quite a bit about this upcoming smartphone.
To cut its price down, Samsung cuts the display to 1080p, brings the RAM down to just 6GB, and lessens other specs such as the camera sensors. It’s still a respectable offering, and one that users will especially appreciate given it will come at a lower price.

Earlier, there was little information about the phone available online, with most of the stories discussing the different names it could be launched under. This is because, over the last few days, the phone has been referred to as the “Galaxy S20 Pen Edition” — an S-Pen stylus totting device — with previous speculations sticking to calling it the “S20 Fan Edition” or simply the S20 Lite. The Smartphone will be powered by 2×2.73 GHz, 2×2.50

Leaks in the past have also said the phone could come with a display that ranges between 6.4 and 6.5 inches — a size that will be larger than the Galaxy S20 (6.2”) and smaller than the S20+ (6.7”). However, this display will come with a centered punch hole to maintain consistency with the rest of Samsung’s line-up.

The Phone will come with a powerful 4500 mAh battery to support it’s 6.5 inch screen, having a resolution of 1080 x 2400 at 405 ppi.GHz, 4×2.0 GHz Octa-core core Exynos 990 Processor. A 8 GB of RAM will ensure phone runs smoothly even the most memory intensive applications & show no signs of lag. 128 GB of internal storage will not be open for expansion at all.
The Phone will come with a powerful 4500 mAh battery to support it’s 6.5 inch screen, having a resolution of 1080 x 2400 at 405 ppi.

Much like the S10 Lite that was launched earlier in the year, the Galaxy S20 Lite could come as a slightly watered-down version of the Galaxy S20. The phone is currently tipped to be made available in both a global and a US variant, with possibly different chipsets and support for either 3G or 4G  basebands.

Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G will boast of dual primary camera of 12 + 8 + 12 megapixel and 32 megapixels front Camera. The Smartphone will have a low camera aperture of f/1.8. It will support high dynamic range(HDR) imaging.

The Smartphone will be available only in one color i.e. Black & will also have a built-in fingerprint sensor as the primary security feature, along with the host of connectivity options in terms of 3G, 4G, GPS, Wifi, NFC Bluetooth capabilities. The phone will come with 128 GB of internal storage.

Mi 10

Xiaomi says that the Mi 10 has a P2i coating to repel water, but there isn’t any IP rating. Other than this, it has almost everything you can think of, starting with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC, LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.0 storage, an in-display fingerprint sensor, Wi-Fi 6, fast wireless charging, and 5G.

It runs on MIUI 11 and Xiaomi has replaced some of its own apps like the dialler and messages with Google’s apps. However, spam notifications are still an issue, although it’s not as severe as its budget offerings.

The Snapdragon 865 is a powerful chip but it also makes the phone quite hot when using the camera or even gaming. The stereo speakers sound balanced but don’t get very loud. The in-display fingerprint sensor on the other hand is not very quick, and it took a good second before it recognized our finger and unlocked the phone.

Xiaomi is making a big deal about its 108-megapixel primary camera, which performs well in daylight and at night. The other cameras are wide-angle and macro, which work decently well in the day but aren’t very good in low light. The 20-megapixel selfie camera is also decent but not great at night.

Battery life is very good on the Mi 10 5G, as it typically lasts for an entire day. Fast charging helps and there’s even reverse wireless charging.

Mi 10 Pro

The Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro runs MIUI 11 based on Android 10 and packs 128GB of inbuilt storage. The Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro is a dual-SIM (GSM and GSM) smartphone that accepts Nano-SIM and Nano-SIM cards. The Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro measures 162.60 x 74.80 x 8.96mm (height x width x thickness) and weighs 208.00 grams. It was launched in Pearl White and Starry Blue colours. It bears a glass body.

As far as the cameras are concerned, the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro on the rear packs a 108-megapixel primary camera with an f/1.69 aperture and a pixel size of 1.6-micron; a second 8-megapixel camera with an f/2.0 aperture and a pixel size of 1.0-micron; a third 12-megapixel camera with an f/2.0 aperture and a pixel size of 1.4-micron and a fourth 20-megapixel camera with an f/2.2 aperture. The rear camera setup has autofocus. It sports a 20-megapixel camera on the front for selfies.

OnePlus 8

The OnePlus 8 is the spiritual successor of the OnePlus 7 and will go on to eventually replace the OnePlus 7T. Build quality is excellent thanks to the curved-edge front and back glass sandwiching the metal frame. The buttons are easy to reach, and the alert slider is handy as always.

The OnePlus 8 has a 6.55-inch AMOLED panel with sloping sides, a wide colour gamut, and a hole-punch cutout in the upper left corner. The 90Hz refresh rate makes usage in general feel fluid and snappy. It also has an in-display fingerprint sensor, which is super quick at authentication. All it takes is a quick, firm tap to unlock it.

The OnePlus 8 has the same 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor with optical stabilization as the 7T. In daylight, it captures detailed images with vivid colours and balanced HDR. The wide-angle camera is also useful. The third macro camera doesn’t have good clarity but it can be useful in some instances. The selfie camera was decent under good light but didn’t do well in low light.

2020 iPad Air- Features

Published

on

apple ipad air

Apple in September 2020 unveiled a redesigned iPad Air. It will launch sometime in October. Apple updated the iPad Air with a fourth-generation model that features a radical redesign that brings it closer in design to the iPad Pro. Priced at $599, the iPad Air is a middle-tier option between the low-cost $329 eighth-generation iPad and the more expensive iPad Pro, priced starting at $799. The iPad Air will be available for purchase in October, and pricing starts at $599 for 64 GB of storage. 256GB of storage is available for $749. Base prices are for WiFi models, with Cellular models available for an additional cost. The new iPad Air starts at Rs 54,900, and will start selling in India from next month.

Features of iPad Air

The iPad Air features a 10.9-inch edge-to-edge display with a 2360×1640 resolution, 3.8 million pixels, and a design that’s similar to the iPad Pro with an aluminum chassis that features flat, rounded edges that wrap around the fully-laminated display. True Tone support is included for adjusting the display to match the ambient lighting, as is P3 wide color, 500 nits brightness, and 1.8 percent reflectivity.

Apple’s iPad Air is the first iPad to offer unique color options similar to iPhone colors. The iPad Air is available in silver, space gray, rose gold, green, and sky blue. What’s most unique about the iPad Air is the new Touch ID sensor integrated into the top button, a first for an Apple device.

The iPad Air does not feature Face ID and relies solely on Touch ID for biometric authentication purposes. Other than being built into the top button instead of a Home button, the Touch ID functionality is the same as other devices that feature Touch ID.

Though there’s no Face ID, the iPad Air includes a 7-megapixel front-facing FaceTime camera along with a 12-megapixel rear camera which is the same wide-angle camera used in the iPad Pro. Speaker quality has been updated with the iPad Air now sporting stereo speakers in landscape mode for wider stereo sound when watching video.

Instead of a Lightning port, the new iPad Air has a USB-C port for up to 5Gbps data transfer along with support for connecting cameras, hard drives, and 4K external monitors. The iPad Air ships with a new 20W USB-C adapter for charging purposes.

Like the iPad Pro, the iPad Air supports the $129 second-generation Apple Pencil and it works with the $279 Magic Keyboard with trackpad that Apple offers. It is also compatible with the Smart Keyboard Folio and Smart Folio covers.

Five things you need to know about iPad Air:

  • New iPad Air resembles an iPad Pro
  • The first Apple device with the A14 Bionic chipset
  • New iPad Air supports Magic Keyboard and 2nd gen Pencil
  • It is the first Apple product to support side-mounted Touch ID
  • It lacks a LiDAR scanner

New iPad Air resembles an iPad Pro

For the first time, the iPad Air is getting a full redesign. The new iPad Air’s design is heavily inspired by the iPad Pro with squared-off sides and no home button on the front. The 10.9-inch Retina Display with True Tone is being stretched to the edges with similar bezels – similar to the iPad Pro. It doesn’t have a 120Hz ProMotion display, though. The updated iPad Air also now has a USB-C port, replacing the traditional Lightning connector. It’s also the first non-iPad Pro model to feature stereo speakers.

The first Apple device with the A14 Bionic chipset

The fourth-generation iPad Air is the first Apple product with the latest A14 Bionic processors. This is the same chipset that’s usually reserved for new iPhone 12 series, but those phones are not even out yet. Nevertheless, the chipset is made on the 5nm scale making it one of the first processors from any manufacturer in the industry. Apple claims the A14 Bionic is 40 per cent faster than the chipset found in the previous-generation iPad Air. Storage comes in at 64GB and 256GB.

New iPad Air supports Magic Keyboard and 2nd gen Pencil

And it will work with the Magic Keyboard. This is a new keyboard accessory that has a laptop-style trackpad for the iPad. The Magic Keyboard turns iPad Air into a floating display. The Magic Keyboard is originally designed for the iPad Pro, but since the new iPad Air has the same design as the iPad Pro, the accessory works perfectly with the redesigned tablet. The Magic Keyboard is sold separately and costs Rs 27,900. The new tablet is also compatible with the second-generation Apple Pencil stylus similar to the iPad Pro. The 2nd gen Apple Pencil doesn’t come in the box. You have to buy it separately for Rs 10,899.

It is the first Apple product to support side-mounted Touch ID

The new iPad Air doesn’t feature Face ID, instead it relies on a new Touch ID sensor built into the power button on the top of the tablet. It’s the first Apple device that comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. All you need to touch the top power button to use Touch ID for unlocking of the tablet or purchasing apps.

It lacks a LiDAR scanner

The new model the same12MP lens on the back as on the iPad Pro and a 7MP camera on the front. However, the Air misses on the LiDAR scanner that can be used to measure the distance to objects in a room. The expensive iPad Pro includes a LiDAR scanner and Apple’s new 3D camera technology is also coming to the iPhone 12 Pro Max. A LiDAR lens essentially enables new augmented-reality experiences on the iPad.
